Fiddlehead season is best observed with a touch of butter. You can find them at farmers' markets and restaurants but you could also take a hike and look for yourself, they're often found near streams and rivers. Be sure first to check out the UMaine Cooperative Extension's site for safe harvesting and cleaning instructions, it's important to know what you're doing.
